Doom of Doubs

Originally for the Arcadia Gamejam 3.

The theme was Loop so again I took it literally in many french and English puns.

The game is fully in English. Don't hesitate to ring me anywhere if there's a problem. There's not much written so many kids won't have problems.

This is a fast paced Beat-them-all where you restart everything when you die, but you keep money to upgrade further. So every iteration is either quicker or longer. There's no defeat conditions. Just beat everything that moves until you knock down the bosses. You die no problem : get buckles from dead enemies to be stronger.

Billy is armed with a magnifier, which can brawl enemies in melee...

...or burn others by concentrating sun rays in front of him !
Beware of the sun orientation ! You'll get burn if in front. Never do this at home kids !
Be also aware of mirrors, which can bounce back your rays to you. To make it more crunchy heated mirrors damages you in contact. Good luck getting rid of them.

You don't need to upgrade everything to finish the game, but speed-running through it with nothing takes time and nerves. Being offensive makes you faster but you may repeat more frequently, as being defensive gives you a slow but steady advance because dying becomes rare. If you take your time you might finish the game in between one and two hours, if you like farming buckles for better upgrades of your choice.

Billy Controls :
☼ Left/right : move
☼ Up : initiate jump
☼ Mouse : target
☼ Left click : attack (let it pressed for continous attacks)
-► Clicking where Billy face will do a frontal attack, up to 3 times !
-► Clicking in the back of Billy will do a flip attack, rotating Billy.
-► Clicking on top of Billy will do a upward attack (and makes Billy face this direction).
-► Attacking while running will do a dash, stopping Billy and pushing hit ennemies.
-► Attacking while in the air will do an aerial attack (and does not flip Billy).
☼ Right click : concentrate sunray

Other Controls :
☼ Escape : quit the game
☼ P : pause the game (you can here go back to menu)
☼ S : mute/unmute sound
☼ M : mute/unmute music (or ; for azerty users)
☼ F : show/hide FPS (the game is supposed to run at 50 fps)

Speedrun mode :
☼ No pause !
☼ Loading time doesn't count.
☼ All Resources are loaded, so expect a small freeze.
☼ Time spent on the opgrade menu doesn't count.
☼ Timer is shown permanently !
